Kearney Public Schools is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year.
Serve in schools as a substitute teacher on an "as-needed" basis when the contract teacher is absent. Daily rate of pay for full day is $150/Day. Teaching or Substitute Teaching Certificate required.

Kearney Public Schools Substitute Teachers must hold a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate. The Certificate may be a Teaching certificate or a Substitute Teaching certificate.
The online Substitute application through TalentEd Recruit & Hire must be completed to be considered for substituting.
New substitute applicants, those who have been designated inactive (longer than one year) and those who have never substituted for Kearney Public Schools, will be required to complete pre-employment background screenings.
Once the background checks have been completed with the appropriate agencies and the candidate receives clearance for employment, a substitute onboarding will be scheduled with Human Resources. All substitute applicants will be required to schedule and attend an employee oonboarding before entering the classroom as a substitute.
This position is subject to a veterans' preference.
