QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and student supervision skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Works well with children and adults.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)
- Works with small groups and individual students.
- Supervises students in lunchroom, playground, and at bus pick up zones as directed by the Principal.
- Understands curriculum, student behavior procedures, and learning problem methods.
- Supervises students on field trips and students on buses.
- Assists students with make-up work when they’ve been absent.
- Prepares and displays bulletin boards as directed by teachers.
- Prepares, organizes and duplicates instructional materials.
- Dispenses, collects and organizes materials for instruction.
- Corrects student papers, tests, workbooks and homework.
- Listens to children’s written work as they read it orally.
- Reports areas or incidents where students/staff safety may be a risk.
- Inputs grades on computer.
- Informs teacher of who doesn’t have their work submitted.
- Assists students with typing and printing on computers.
- Prepares items for lamination.
- Attends appropriate staff development activities offered by the district.
- Prepares supplies for art projects; mounts and displays artwork.
- Tests student skills individually.
- Prepares certificates of accomplishment.
- Prepares for music and class programs.
- Monitors mainstream students in classrooms.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
