QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  2. Nebraska Occupational Therapist Certification / Licensure

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  (Include, but are not limited to)

    1. Knowledge of human development, neuromotor development and treatment techniques.
    2. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of adaptive equipment, parent, teacher and team training.
    3. Knowledge of Rule 51 and Rule 52
    4. Write Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
    5. Willing to travel.
    6. Perform Occupational Therapy assessments for children birth to age 21 in an educational setting.
    7. Plan and implement programs including direct service, integrated service and/or consultative services depending on the child’s, parent and school’s needs.
    8. Document the service plans and assessments in the child’s IEP, IFSP, or MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) report.
    9. Provide ongoing treatments and consultative services including coordination of services with the student’s team, including scheduling, traveling and providing direct service.
    10. Follows safety regulations/rules.
    11. Follows established work methods.
    12. Uses non-sexist and culturally appropriate language.
    13. Is willing to meet job requirements.
    14. Works throughout the assigned hours.
    15. Conforms to rules and regulations.
    16. Implements the policies and procedures of Kearney Public Schools.
    17. Manages stress effectively.
    18. Demonstrates personal motivation and self-discipline.
    19. Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility.
    20. Exercises discretion in decision-making.
    21. Organizes and manages own time and tasks.
    22. Deals with stressful situations and time pressures.
    23. Has appropriate appearance for the assigned tasks.
    24. Exhibits willingness to adjust to schedule changes.
    25. Exhibits positive relations with other individuals during the daily work assignments.
    26. Is a good team worker.
    27. Works effectively with all school audiences.
    28. Supports goals and objectives of the Kearney Public Schools.
    29. Exhibits emotional stability.
    30. Appears to possess physical and mental stamina necessary to complete job requirements.
    31. Comes to work on time.
    32. Follows proper reporting procedures.
    33. Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
    34. Possess the ability to work with appropriate personnel.
