Hours: 32.5 hours per week  (6.5 hours per day) or 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)

Schedule will follow the school calendar.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education:  Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Excellent organizational and student supervision skills.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Works well with children and adults.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  (Include, but are not limited to)

  1. Works with small groups and individual students.
  2. Supervises students in lunchroom, playground, and at bus pick up zones as directed by the Principal.
  3. Understands curriculum, student behavior procedures, and learning problem methods.
  4. Supervises students on field trips and students on buses.
  5. Assists students with make-up work when they’ve been absent.
  6. Prepares and displays bulletin boards as directed by teachers.
  7. Prepares, organizes and duplicates instructional materials.
  8. Dispenses, collects and organizes materials for instruction.
  9. Corrects student papers, tests, workbooks and homework.
  10. Listens to children’s written work as they read it orally.
  11. Reports areas or incidents where students/staff safety may be a risk.
  12. Inputs grades on computer.
  13. Informs teacher of who doesn’t have their work submitted.
  14. Assists students with typing and printing on computers.
  15. Prepares items for lamination.
  16. Attends appropriate staff development activities offered by the district.
  17. Prepares supplies for art projects; mounts and displays artwork.
  18. Tests student skills individually.
  19. Prepares certificates of accomplishment.
  20. Prepares for music and class programs.
  21. Monitors mainstream students in classrooms.
  22. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
